ABOUT

I am a qualified counsellor working with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, alcohol or substance use and coping behaviours that interfere with daily functioning and a sense of control.

People come to this work when they are managing externally but struggling internally, often under sustained pressure, responsibility or long standing habits that no longer feel effective.

I work independently in private practice and also provide confidential staff support to organisations.

PROFESSIONAL APPROACH

My work is structured, contained and collaborative.

I am not a silent observer. I am engaged, direct and present in the work. I bring compassion alongside challenge, and aim to support depth without therapy becoming vague or indefinite.

I place particular emphasis on:

  • Understanding behavioural and emotional patterns

  • Reducing shame around coping strategies

  • Setting boundaries and reclaiming space

  • Strengthening self-regulation and choice

  • Supporting realistic, lasting change

AREAS OF WORK

I work with adults experiencing difficulties that affect their emotional stability, clarity, or the ability to cope effectively with daily life.

My work commonly includes:

  • Stress and burnout

Ongoing pressure, overload, difficulty switching off, and the impact of long term responsibility

  • Anxiety and emotional regulation

Persistent worry, irritability, emotional reactivity, or feeling internally unsettled despite external functioning.

  • Alcohol, substance use and coping behaviours

Questioning patterns of use, loss of control, reliance on alcohol or other behaviours to manage stress, sleep, or emotion.

  • Pressure, control, and performance related difficulties

High functioning individuals managing expectations, decision fatigue, perfectionism, or fear of letting go.

  • Identify shifts and role pressure

Changes related to work roles, relationships, ageing, or loss of direction that disrupt a sense of self or stability.

  • Long-standing patterns that feel difficult to interrupt

Repeated behaviours or emotional responses that persist despite insight or effort
